With special reference to the analysis of the characteristics of theatre translation between kindred languages, this work goes into depth with the particular traits of one of the most emblematic works of the Argentine author Daniel Veronese: “Mujeres soñaron caballos”. Analysing the linguistic and cultural variants of the Spanish of the River Plate region in the configuration of the language in theatre plays of the crisis, this work considers the main difficulties presented by theatre translation in general and Veronese’s text in particular. With the aim of exploring the possibility of an Italian translation of Veronese’s text and the importance which the dialectic relations between the text and the scene acquire in this operation and in the consciousness of the translator, a translation analysis of some of the areas of the work is proposed. Not only the historical and social characteristics of present-day Argentina are taken into consideration here, but also the specific articulation of the language in use in the area of the River Plate, in order to be able to work out a proposal for a referential grid for approaching the text, considering its discursive strategies, the linguistic contacts implicit in it and its relationship with the conceptual and poetical strong points of the work.

Abstract
Not only the historical and social characteristics of present-day Argentina are taken into consideration here, but also the specific articulation of the language in use in the area of the River Plate, in order to be able to work out a proposal for a referential grid for approaching the text, considering its discursive strategies, the linguistic contacts implicit in it and its relationship with the conceptual and poetical strong points of the work.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
