The aim of this chapter is to reconstruct the development of Italian labour policy. After a brief introduction on the salience of the Italian labour market policies, the second section presents the institutional model that emerged and consolidated during the so-called ‘Golden Age’ (1945-1975). The third section focuses on a brief description of reform cycles that have, since the 1980s, led to some significant changes in the configuration of Italian labour policies. The main reasons behind these changes are briefly presented in the fourth section, while the last section concludes with some considerations on the future reform agenda.

Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to reconstruct the development of Italian labour policy. After a brief introduction on the salience of the Italian labour market policies, the second section presents the institutional model that emerged and consolidated during the so-called ‘Golden Age’ (1945-1975). The third section focuses on a brief description of reform cycles that have, since the 1980s, led to some significant changes in the configuration of Italian labour policies. The main reasons behind these changes are briefly presented in the fourth section, while the last section concludes with some considerations on the future reform agenda.File in questo prodotto:
