The Pirelli "Coalition of Producers" Concertative Model and the Challenge of Economic globalization. An Analysis of the Strategic Role of Information in Bargaining Processes. The Analysis of industrial relation in Pirelli, an italian multinational company, reveals a dramatic weakening of bargaining power of the strong and well organized company union over the last 20 years about plant localization company strategy, traditionally an important matter of concertative practices. Since Pirelli exploited the liberalization of international markets to a very limited extent for transferring its production activities to countries with lower labor cost, I consider the hypothesis the weakening of union bargaining power is partly imputable to growing informative asimmetry between parties, effect of an increased complexity and changeableness of the environment. In fact, Pirelli case-study shows that company management has a remarkable congnitive advantage over union about evironmental context knowledge and exploits it in bargaining process sistematically. A discussion about the strategic role of information in bargaining process supports the analysis.

Abstract
A discussion about the strategic role of information in bargaining process supports the analysis.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
