Parental Social Support in Aosta: A Welfare Mix Practice in Developing Early Childhood Policies and Services The article discusses some of the findings of a research project aimed at investigating the needs and expectations of families with children aged 0 to 3 regarding early childhood policies and services implemented by the municipality of Aosta. In a context characterized by widespread satisfaction about the existing services, we conducted qualitative research through interviews with professionals and focus groups with parents of different social profiles. Through the analysis, thematic areas were identified as useful for enhancing service delivery further. The involvement of parents proved to be useful for early childhood policy enhancement, particularly in contexts marked by high levels of customer satisfaction. When appreciable standards of services are provided, parents of new born children indicated that institutional support can be crucial to strengthening their relational network and develop a social fabric conducive to concrete opportunities for community education processes.
