The relationship between the children’s social image and education is close and lasting, as widely demonstrated by the history of education. Comenio, Rousseau, Pestalozzi upto Korzac are the foundation of such an awareness. Today the face of the competent child, a valid interlocutor of adults, seems finally to emerge on the horizon, although new forms of educational poverty afflict contemporary childhood. The article – from the perspective of the general (therefore theoretical) pedagogy – draws the portrait the of the contemporary image of childhood providing the coordinates for its interpretation.
La relazione tra immaginario sociale e teoria pedagogica è strettamente interrelata, come dimostra la storia dell’educazione nei suoi snodi cruciali tra autori quali Comenio, Rousseau, Pestalozzi fino a Korzac. Oggi, il volto del bambino competente, valido interlocutore dell’adulto, sembra finalmente stagliarsi all’orizzonte sebbene nuove forme di povertà educativa affliggano l’infanzia contemporanea. Il contributo, nella prospettiva teoretica, traccia i diversi volti dell’infanzia contemporanea proponendo quadri ermeneutici per la sua interpretazione in senso pedagogico.
