Considered to be the most advanced digital republic in the world, Estonia has seen, in the last decade, a tenfold presence increase on its territory of Italians with short, medium or long-term migration projects towards professional, social and cultural contexts with cosmopolitan and international overtones. An investigation based on the conduction of sociolinguistic interviews, the administration of questionnaires and the realization of observational surveys in the field aimed at focusing on the linguistic habits of this particular typology of Italian speakers who, in their new daily life, use English as the main language of their working, cultural and escapist environments, but who at the same time - immersed in a context of polylanguaging - create linguistic polygamies that escape the canonical evolutionary patterns of migrant linguistic repertoires.

Abstract
Considered to be the most advanced digital republic in the world, Estonia has seen, in the last decade, a tenfold presence increase on its territory of Italians with short, medium or long-term migration projects towards professional, social and cultural contexts with cosmopolitan and international overtones. An investigation based on the conduction of sociolinguistic interviews, the administration of questionnaires and the realization of observational surveys in the field aimed at focusing on the linguistic habits of this particular typology of Italian speakers who, in their new daily life, use English as the main language of their working, cultural and escapist environments, but who at the same time - immersed in a context of polylanguaging - create linguistic polygamies that escape the canonical evolutionary patterns of migrant linguistic repertoires.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
